The Speech Therapist is responsible for provisions of direct patient services, including diagnosis, consultation, assessment, and treatment. The incumbent is also responsible for participation in departmental/community programs and hospital wide programs associated with the professional services. The Speech Therapist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. The incumbent is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations.
Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical practice and procedures in speech language
Good oral communication skills
Good organizational skills
Demonstrate expertise in facilitating various modes of service delivery for treatment (individual and group)
Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability within the established professional standards of professional practice and the organization
Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
French Language proficiency is an asset
Education and/or Certification:
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent - Required
Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario - Required
Relevant internship/placement education experience - Preferred
