The Department of Medical Affairs is responsible for providing support and services to our Credentialed Professional Staff (Physicians and Dentists) and Learners. We work closely with the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Administrative Team and Medical Leadership to foster a collaborative relationship focused on the delivery of high quality medical care to our patients and a shared strategic vision.

Human Resources
- Annual professional staff human resource planning
- Professional staff impact analysis process
- Professional staff recruitment/retention support
- Develop job postings and coordinate selection committees
- Professional staff orientation
- Professional/career development
- Professional staff 360 evaluation process
Credentialing
- Facilitate new appointments to the Professional Staff
- Facilitate annual re-appointment of Professional Staff
- Ensure compliance with Public Hospitals Act & Professional Staff By-Laws; Staff By-Laws - HDGH (Revised January 2019)
- Coordinate the appointment of privileges
Financial
- Contract development
- Manage the remuneration of salaried physicians, on-call stipends and sessional/stipend payments
Performance
- Code of Conduct
- Medical legal issues
- Competence issues
Professional Staff Relations
- Professional Staff Engagement
- Ensure Medical Leadership and Professional Staff are representeded in strategic initiatives and on committees
- Work closely with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in the development of rotations/training of all medical students and residents at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare
