Palliative Program
The T2B Palliative Care Unit, The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Wing, is located on Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s 3rd floor of the Dr. Y. Emara Centre for Healthy Aging and Mobility (Emara Building). This unit includes both private and semi-private rooms with shared baths.
In 2013 Transition to Betterness (T2B) hosted a Capital Campaign and raised funds to renovate this unit to include a family kitchen and family lounge along with the unit rooms. The environment is designed to help you and your family feel and stay as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
Patients who would benefit from this program include those who are within the last three months of a life limiting illness, where life-saving measures are not planned, and where care needs cannot be met at home. Patients who require advanced pain and symptom management in order to return home may also benefit from this program.
Services available to support your palliative care journey will address physical, social, emotional and spiritual care needs. Your team may include Palliative Care Physicians and/or Physician Assistants, Nurses, Spiritual Care Chaplains, Social Workers, Alternative Care Therapists, Dietitians, and Volunteers.
HDGH’s Palliative Care Unit - The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Wing, offers patients and their families additional supportive services such as the T2B's comfort-based programs offer patients and their families additional supportive services such as the T2B Comfort Cart, Parking Passes, T2B Comfort Blanket, Holiday Meal Program and many more, all made possible by the generosity of partners of Transition to Betterness (T2B).

Visiting Hours
