Days, Midnights, Afternoons, Weekends
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the provision of direct client services including assessment, consultation, evaluation and treatment. The Respiratory Therapist supports and fosters a patient/family centered team-based approach to care delivery. The incumbent is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations. The Respiratory Therapist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
2 years of previous experience in a Respiratory Therapy position – Preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team approach and to adhere to accepted standards of personal conduct
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team
Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability
Computer competency
French language proficiency is considered an asset
Education and/or Certification:
General Certificate of Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario - Required
Registration or eligibility with the Canadian Board for Respiratory Care - Required
Relevant internship/placement educational experience - Required
B.C.L.S – Required
A.C.L.S – Preferred
Competent in 12 lead EKG interpretation and defibrillation - Preferred
