The Community Crisis Centre is a client-centered mental health service delivery model that provides crisis response services to individuals who are experiencing an acute mental illness and/or psychosocial crisis. Using the principles of client-centered care, the Social Worker will provide services to clients, which includes assessment, and planning, crisis support/counseling, medical intervention, environmental interventions and crisis stabilizations, provide appropriate referrals to ongoing services and supports, monitor and evaluate the achievement of goals, provide information, consultation/collaboration, and advocacy. This position contributes to the hospital mission by being a team member, which ensures confidentiality, quality, and client-centered health care in the community.
Minimum of one year experience working in adult mental health – Required
Proven crisis intervention skills and good knowledge of mental health illness and social problems
Knowledge of mental health support services in the Windsor and Essex County
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all patients, staff and visitors
Clinical skills to assess signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness, experience with psychosocial, and risk assessments
Good problem solving ability, and work well under pressure
Ability to work independently, or as a Crisis team
French Language Proficiency is an asset
Education and/or Certification:
Bachelor/Master of Social Work - Required
Registered with the Ontario College of Certified Social Workers – Required
