Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for monitoring actual results against budgets and recommending the appropriate corrective action with department managers. The Financial Analyst will also participate in the month-end process, reconcile various balance sheet accounts and contribute to various ministry reporting requirements. The Financial Analyst will be a team player, working collaboratively on-site with others in an open-concept working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists Manager of Finance, Director of Finance and CFO in the preparation of the Hospitals' annual operating and capital budget
· Responsible for assisting in the quarterly reporting requirements
· Explanations for variances are investigated and documented to ensure appropriate actions are taken
· Compilation and analysis of statistical data, variances and fluctuations by department
· Analyze general ledger accounts and make corrections as necessary
· Prepare account reconciliations, providing month-end, year-end and audit assistance
· Assists with other duties and assignments, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3-5 years accounting and financial experience within a computerized accounting environment, preferably within a health care facility
· Proficient Microsoft Suite skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and data base applications
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all staff, departments, third-party vendors, and visitors
· Ability to be resourceful to find answers and solutions to various demands
· Conduct ad-hoc projects to include analyzing large volumes of data and communicating your findings
· Must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
· Ability to act in a calm, professional manner consistent with the Hospital's values
· Bilingual, French and English, considered an asset
Education and/or Certification:
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATION:
· Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business – Required
· Completion of Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or in the process of obtaining – Required
